Deep Retrofit and EnerPHit Solutions for Homeowners in Northern Ireland

About Me

I’m Marcin Piotrowicz, an experienced architect and certified Passive House Designer (CEPHD). I’ve been helping homeowners remodel, extend and convert homes for over 10 years. Prior to that, since 1999, I was employed in many architectural offices in Poland, Republic of Ireland and since 2008 in Northern Ireland. I now focus and specialise in design for Retrofit projects, helping upgrade old, neglected properties to meet modern energy, comfort, and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Architecture (Wrocław University of Technology, 2002)
  • ARB Registered Architect (since 2012)
  • Certified Passive House Designer (CEPHD, since 2023)
  • Member of RIBA and RSUA (since 2022)
  • Currently pursuing Retrofit Coordinator certification (PAS2035:2023)

What is Retrofit?

Retrofit involves upgrading existing buildings to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and air quality. This includes adding insulation, improving airtightness, and installing energy-efficient heating systems. My role is to coordinate the entire process to ensure the highest standards are met.

What is EnerPHit?

EnerPHit is a certification for retrofitting older buildings to Passive House standards. It focuses on achieving high energy efficiency and comfort, even in buildings that weren’t originally built to these standards. It’s ideal for anyone looking to drastically reduce energy bills and improve their home’s comfort.
